Quest for the treasure of the riviera of Umag
With the help of the map called ''Quest for the treasure of the Riviera of Umag'', which encompasses the majority of historical and archaeological sites in the area of Umag and its surroundings, you can explore on your own our rich history. In particular, the map focuses on significant localities in the area of Savudrija; promontories Sipar, Katoro and Tiola; the centre of Umag; St. Peregrines; St. John and Lovrečica. The map makes proposals for the “search” with the drawings with basic characteristics of the chosen sights accompanied by textual descriptions. With the help of the map, it is possible to tour the proposed itinerary in 1.5 to 2 hours by car or by bike, and it takes roughly the same time to walk around Umag and to visit the museum.
Introduction to Istria
The roads through vineyards, olive groves and green meadows take you to picturesque small towns in the hinterland of Istria and to beautiful tourist destinations located on the coast of the peninsula. The highlight of the excursion is the visit to Pula, famous for its Roman amphitheatre called Arena, Augustus' Temple, Golden Gate and many other ancient monuments. The most famous of many wine sorts that can be found in Istria are the Istrian White Malvasia and the Istrian Teran, as well as the world famous high quality sorts of wine like the White and Grey Pinot, Chardonnay, Red Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscat that thrive excellently upon this soil… Umag and its surroundings have one of the most famous wine roads in Croatian, with even 22 famous wine growers. A drive along the wine road, a visit to properties with wine cellars of the recognized and prize-winning wine growers with the inevitable wine tasting, will be an unforgettable excursion! Apart from its wine, Istria is also famous for brandy and olive oil.
Brijuni
The Brijuni Archipelago with its 14 islands of astonishing beauty, famous archaeological sites and numerous plant and animal species is the only national park in Istria. The boat drive to the Island of Veliki Brijun is followed by the sightseeing of the island by a tourist train and bathing in secluded paradisiacal bays…

Plitvice
The world known Plitvice Lakes are one of the greatest natural phenomena in Croatia and wider. It has been under protection of UNESCO since 1979. 16 lakes interconnected by hundreds of waterfalls, the highest of them being 78 m, surrounded by the abundance of plant and animal species, are a natural attraction visited by hundreds of thousands guests during the year. Although a journey in one direction lasts for 4 hours, the times passes quickly owing to beautiful and interesting landscapes. A walk through the park and sightseeing of its natural beauties are worth it!
Postojna - Lipica
In the immediate vicinity of Umag there is a picturesque small Slovenian town of Lipice famous for its tradition in breeding thoroughbred horses. During this excursion programme you have the opportunity to get to know different methods of training and feeding these noble horses, with an attractive show programme. The lunch is followed by an excursion to the world famous Postojna Cave with over 20 km of underground beauties. Visitors are taken for a tour by a special cave train.
Venice
Only a two hours of pleasant drive by catamaran and you are in the famous Venice! The sightseeing of the St. Mark Square is followed by a visit to the Murano Glass Factory. The afternoon is reserved for a free walk around the town, a lunch in some Venetian restaurant or a tour by gondola...
