Four day package for individual biking guests
The region of Istria is certainly a good choice for a long cycling weekend, and especially region’s North-Western part. During the four-day program you'll drive on tight roads along the sea, up on lovely hills covered with forests, vineyards and olive fields. Many picturesque medieval towns and villages with typical taverns and wine roads are waiting to be discovered.
To make your holiday more comfortable, upon your arrival in the hotel you'll receive the Istria’s biking guide containing: the map of Istria with clearly marked biking roads, a brief description of each biking road and many useful contacts (where to repair a bicycle; selected restaurants and “konoba” (taverns), farmhouses and wine cellars that offer special facilities and discounts for our guests etc.).
The package includes not only half board in comfortable hotel, but also, a checking service of the bicycle and one entrance to the hotel’s wellness centre.

Day 1:
ROAD No 1.
(Thursday): arrival in the morning, brief welcome meeting, cycling road: Umag – Savudrija – Vilanija – Umag ( ~ 32 km )
Umag – Savudrija – Vilanija – Umag Today's leg takes us along the northern part of the Umag Riviera, through the fisher’s villages of Bašanija and Savudrija, with the oldest lighthouse on the Adriatic Sea in Savudrija. After a ride along the sea, we'll proceed towards the hinterland on secondary roads and paths that will take us through the Mediterranean terrain, vineyards and olive fields ton our way back to Umag. In Savudrija we'll have a possibility to taste and purchase first class wine by one of the best Croatian producers, famous especially for red wines (this visit has to be booked at least one day earlier).

Day 2:
ROAD No 2.
(Friday): cycling road: Buje – Volpija – Grožnjan – Buje ( ~ 39 km )
Umag – Buščina – Juricani – Križine – Umag Today's leg takes us in the interior of Istria on light roads and paths through small villages, and in the second part back on the coast, where we'll ride along the sea to Umag coming from its southern part. Along the path we find the village Koreniki, where is one of the best Istrian wine producers, where we can taste and purchase his excellent wines. Our suggestion: try the Istrian Malvasia (white wine). (this visit has to be booked at least one day earlier).

Day 3:
ROAD No 3.
(Saturday): cycling road: Buje – Oprtalj – Buje ( ~ 39 km )
Buje – Volpija – Grožnjan – Buje Today’s leg will take us completely on the roads in Istrian Hinterland starting and ending in Buje, trough lovely green hills, passing by the town of Momjan - the small town of delicious sweet wine Momjan's „muskat“ and Grožnjan - the romantic town of artists and art galleries. Along the itinerary we'll find several excellent „konoba“(taverns) and restaurants offering various Istrian cuisine seasonal specialties (wild asparagus in spring, truffles and mushrooms in autumn, etc.). The wine road "Kabola" in Momjan, with excellent wines, is also worth visiting.

Day 4:
ROAD No 4.
(Sunday): cycling road: Umag – Buščina – Juricani – Križine – Umag ( ~ 30 km )
Buje – Oprtalj – Buje Today's leg takes us to the hilly surroundings of Buje and up to the medieval centre of this area of Istria - Oprtalj. Oprtalj is a small town located on a hill, with a fascinating view on the surrounding valleys; one of them is the valley of the river Mirna, the most important area where truffles are found. We'll return to Buje along tight roads through the hills and small forests. Along this path there's an opportunity to taste some of the traditional Istrian dishes in one of the leading Istrian farm houses (this visit has to be booked at least one day earlier)..
We recommend daily cycling roads sequences. All the roads start and finish at the same point, and can be done in both directions. The distance from Umag to Buje is approx. 15 km.
